Our founder

Duane Samson

Duane is a retired police officer with 27 years on the force. As Community Safety Director for the Waikele Community Association, he runs the Neighborhood Security Watch and Citizens' Patrol programs, and he helped make Waikele one of the safest neighborhoods on the island.

Now he is taking that mission island wide. Safer Communities Hawaii is the program Duane started to help every neighborhood build the same thing Waikele built: neighbors who know each other, walk together, and work with the police.
